Missed Uni today, mum has been really unwell and had to travel back to London this morning as she needed me to be in the house last night. Tonight i finished more of my research and i have started developing my ideas more into things i can look at for my final piece.. i think im goign to go along the lines of representing different parts of wales in textiles using welsh symbols and techniques etc and looking specifically at welsh cloth.
I have managed to find a welsh wool wasitcoat and cape which i think i am goign to work with for my final piece, am going to try and find some more this weekend in Camden as i would like a collection of welsh wool on display so 3 or 4 garments that show a story of Wales and pictures it cant wait to get started already had some ideas about looking at agricultural wales, valleys wales and city wales... just 1 idea. Done some more smples tonight have started some embroidery and need to speak 2 Shane about techniques he could show me etc... as the techniques are being done i keep thinking of different ways they could be used in a textiles way and not just for the use they have been before.
Really enjoying looking at welsh wool cloth i find it so fascinating.
Welsh samplers went into my sketchbook tonight i found some books on it when i went home to central library in Cardiff and they tell so many different stories its very fascinating. i also did a few of the Welsh symbols for my double pages thought of loads more like cardiff city bluebirds, welsh girls...
Have fallen out with my housemates cant wait to move out in 5 weeks when the course finishes and looking forward to summer at home working but its meant i can work loads in the night as nobody is coming in an out of my room so :))) im actually happy bout it apart from the horrible air but who cares 5 weeks is nothing.
really tired going to bed now its 10.34pm
